The checklist outlines the essential steps to complete before signing the lease, before move-in, on the day of arrival, and before move-out. It is designed to help tenants understand their responsibilities, prepare all required documents, and avoid common misunderstandings.

a seamless experience throughout the stay.

Move-In Checklist
Before signing the lease

Provide a valid Visale guarantee covering the full rental period

Send proof of eligibility for Bail Mobilité (studies, internship, professional mobility)

Send copy of ID/Passport
-
Read and understand the lease terms carefully

Confirm move-in and move-out dates

Before move-in

Take out home insurance (assurance habitation) starting on the move-in date

Send the insurance certificate to Montmartre Apartments

Ensure the first month’s rent has been paid

Schedule the check-in and inspection appointment

On the day of arrival

Attend the check-in inspection (état des lieux d’entrée)

Review the inventory list carefully

Take your own photos if needed

Note meter readings if applicable

During the stay

Use the apartment responsibly and report any issues promptly

Ventilate regularly to prevent humidity

Respect house rules and neighbours

Keep your insurance valid for the entire stay

Before move-out
